MY FIRST SOLO TRIP ABROAD ...

Ok, so birthday month is over … I told you in my previous post that I’m planning something big for my birthday … and I wanted to share with you what happened to that plan …

Anyways, I booked my ticket year 2012 … (yea I know … such a long wait) … originally, my plan is to book a ticket for two … so I did … I called this close-friend of mine and asked if she’s in for that trip … she was like … “sure, I’m in!” so I did booked our ticket … I’ve been to Hong Kong (2x), Macau and Thailand … so I was thinking of a place overseas where I haven’t been before … so I decided Singapore … heard lots of good things about that place … so yea! Plus I really wanna see the Merlion and Universal Studios … my problem now is when should I travel … ‘cause in my line of work … we usually have schedules out of town … so I decided to get my birth date for 2013 … turns out there is an available promo for that date! (SWEEET!) … so yea~ I got the date, the place and a friend to go with me … all set .. I just need to wait for that date to come … hihihi …

Fast-forward to 2013 … Since I’ve been very busy with work … I had short time preparing for our itinerary and accommodation ... plus my friend doesn’t have a passport yet … so I usually reminder to get one … I even volunteered to set an appointment for her passport … she’ll go like … “ok, I’ll get my passport on May” … I was like … “ok, let me know if you need anything or what” … I even sent her the requirements and stuff that she needs … Month of June came … by this time … I don’t wanna follow-up her since I had a feeling that she make excuses AGAIN so she won’t come with me …

Anyways, I was irritated at first to be honest … but you know what I was actually conditioned that yea ~ … I think this friend will not go with me … ‘cause she usually does that to me … oh well … this will be the last time that this will happen …

So July came … I still don’t have a complete itinerary and a place to stay in Singapore … but I was determined to go anyways … I was like … this is my birthday trip … and I’m going whatever happened … it took me two weeks before my trip … to finish all the things that I needed including the accommodation …

I was planning on getting a hostel but I remember that we have a relative in Singapore … so my Aunt contact them … to make the long story short … they let me stay in their house … a minus in my budget! Yes! … hihihi …

Travel day came … and I am all set … yes, I went to Singapore ALONE … all by myself … you know what … I kinda thankful that my ditched me on this trip … ‘cause at least I get to check another thing in my “list” which is to ~ “Travel Solo Overseas” … whoot hoot! …

My cousin and his wife fetched me at the airport … but all though-out my stay in Singapore … it’s just me who explores the place … it’s easy navigating in Singapore … the place is soooo clean and I didn’t mind walking alone day and night ‘cause the place is super safe for everyone … food is ok … Oh! I must say Milk Tea in Singapore is LOVE! … tried lots of Milk Tea there … hihihi …

Ok, so here’s my itinerary for this trip:

July 23, 2013 – Departure (NAIA – Changi Airport, Singapore)
*Free day
*Went to Changi Expo – this one is like an outlet store of branded stuff

July 24, 2013 – Singapore Zoo Day
*Spent my whole day here, ate dinner at Ang Moi Koi Mall

July 25, 2013 – Universal Studios Day
*This I must say … the best! … I’ve been to Hong Kong Disneyland and Hong Kong Ocean Park … but I think Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is the best … well going here I’m thinking … I don’t wanna leave USS without pictures … so I looked for a Filipina around and came across this two friends … so I came up to them and asked if I can join them around the park … they we’re like … “sure” so … yes! … anyways … sorry but I did forgot their names … (I suck at remembering names … TBH) … anyways … thankful to them ‘cause I got lots of pictures … hihihi …

July 26, 2013 – My Birthday
*Went to Merlion Park (Another check on my “List”, I got to see the Merlion! Huhuhu …), MBS, Fullerton Hotel, Bugis Junction (went shopping here)
Then I went back to Changi Expo … then all of a sudden heavy rain showed up … so I have no choice but to go home early … my cousin and his family invited me to a dinner to celebrate my birthday … they also gave me this super cute top from H&M (SWEEET!) … so yea … I had a great birthday here …

July 27, 2013 – Time to leave
(Singapore – Manila)

My solo birthday trip is a SUCCESS!! … whew! … it’s not easy to travel solo overseas but to be honest … I didn’t had a hard time … I don’t know … maybe because I’m comfortable traveling alone … hihihi … you know what … I actually discovered things about myself … that hey! I’m braver and stronger that I think I am … this is such an experience that I will never forget … my first time to travel solo overseas …

I had a great time … and I think I wanna do it again … hihihi …

Anyways … I’ll share with you on my next post (if I’ll be “on the mood” to write) my expenses and how much I saved in my Singapore Solo Birthday Trip …

So yea~ … that’s it for now … just wanna leave something for you guys …
You will never know your potential and capabilities unless you go for it …
So I encourage you to try things that you’ve been dreaming of … make your dream into reality … if you wanna travel solo … go for it … get out of your comfort zone … believe in yourself! …. you’ll discover things about yourself that you never thought you can … so yea … Happy Travel! …
